Only one item on the menu. Technically they change it each day but in my seven visits (My friends take often) I have never been able to tell the difference. If you like their one dish, then great; if not....

One of the best restaurants in the bay area, 😍 food was so amazingly good we had to get a second course. The food filled me up and I felt really healthy when I left. If I could I would give the restaurant more stars. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Great vegan restaurant, they have one meal option for lunch and dinner in two sizes - medium and large. Very filling and tasty, each meal comes with soup, a plate full of vegan food and tea. They also have organic beer & wine as well as dessert.

Disgusting. Found hair in my food again!! definitely not mines, I have a short cut fade. Workers didnt even apologize, they just grabbed the plate before anyone else can see that nasty hair, and asked me to pay. Such horrible costumer service, Unethical food practices and no contingency plans for discrepancy as such, I will NOT return. P.s for those wondering this is the 4th time. Which caused me to write the review, Check your plates!

Ever since I switched to a more plant-based diet, this is the place I go for lunch when I work from home. I find myself craving it, actually. I never thought I'd say that as a former long-time beef-and-pork guy. The food is so simple, yet so flavorful, and I would love if they published a cookbook.Tips:-Get the 'Medium' for a satisfying lunch.-Don't forget the tea.-They have a small parking space that gets somewhat tight if there are a lot of cars. There is also street parking in front and all along San Pablo Ave.-Atmosphere is pretty quiet, at least at lunchtime.-I've never had to wait for a table.-Pay at the bar.-Bathrooms are somewhat run down, but clean.

I was in the East Bay and wanted to hit a vegan restaurant for lunch as there so few choices in Marin where I live. Chose this since it was on my route and had some good reviews. The interior is plain, but warm and friendly. There's a menu on the whiteboard which lists the meal for the day. You get a choice between medium and large serving. This day it consisted of a lentil soup followed by a plate with salad, garbanzo beans, rice, and two vegetables. I went with medium and all in all, very good tasting and filling. They also have organic beers and wines. I went with a complimentary tea. On my way out I picked up an almond blueberry cookie. I give the food a 4, service a 5, and that extra bump for keeping it vegan and organic.

Flavorful and filling the dinners here are heavenly. However, you must save room for dessert. Key lime pie made out of avocados! What more do I have to say?

Really delicious, flavorful, clean, healthy food! The lentil soup and all their dishes are so comforting. The vegan pies are delish, especially the coconut and chocolate one! This is my go-to every time I’m sailing at OSCS

Delicious vegan food. I came in on a slow Sunday for lunch from a local tip and the atmosphere was perfect for me: peaceful and serene.They cook one meal a day and you only have two options: a medium or large portion (both come with soup and unlimited hot tea). I got the medium portion for ~$13 and was not disappointed. Very tasty and lots of veggies.I only had 25mins so the staff brought me my food in a to go container and let me pay ahead of time before I started eating.Highly recommended

It is a very calming environment to enjoy a wholesome meal. Sure, they tell you to not use cell phones inside but it's what makes it so nice in there. Put down your phone, eat delicious vegan food and engage with whoever you went with. The regular size plate I felt was more than filling for me. I can't imagine how much larger the big portion is. The menu changes every time I stop by so it's always wonderful and different. (You can check online to see what they're serving today.)) Make sure you grab a mug of the "twig tea". There's always a soup and then a salad with the main plate/ entree.

So glad the people who run this, and Shanghri-Lha, it's sister cafe, are prospering and opening more cafes, because this place is fantastic! The food is always so delicious and fulfilling, and the atmosphere of this one is my favorites. The ingredients are always quality and fresh, combined perfectly, and the sauces are excellent. This is really healthy, nutritious food, and I always leave feeling satisfied. Their deserts are delectable as well. So grateful to our Tibetan friends for sharing their cuisine with us!

A friend and I ate an early lunch a couple of weeks ago at Potala and were very delighted. Delicious, fresh and wholesome foods presented in a large plate or medium plate selection, also with other foods you could buy separately. Our medium plates were satisfying and filling. Brown Rice, beans, kale, salad, and chopped vegetables with sauces and a dressing for the salad were delicious. Tea was delicious. We could talk easily and really enjoy our lunch.

Delicious vegan food. We visited with our whole family including children (mind you, they can be picky) and everyone enjoyed the whole meal. We liked the cozy, quiet and calm atmosphere. The kindness of the servers did not go unnoticed. Thank you!!!

Good organic vegan food period.

They have 2 meal options. Regular (rice+entrees+soup combo plate that comes in large and medium sizes) and simple, which means cooked with no oil or seasonings. Organic, vegan, and still impressively delicious! Unique experience worth a try.

Everything I ordered was delicious from collards and kale with leek sauce, to the mung bean soup with vegetables. The coconut vegan cheese cake with nutty crust was great!

Didn't know what to expect, but the simplicity and quality is what makes this place stand out. Each of the "side dishes" that make up the main lunch item could be their own separate price point -- and I would've paid for them each. I'll be going back again, then again after that.

We love it here. Private parking lot. Calm and clean interior. Fast service and very reasonable prices. The food is filling and delicious!! The medium plate is enough for me. Definitely plan to bring in my friends when they visit. Highly recommend.

The best organic, vegan, cozy, home cooked meal in the East Bay. No long menus, simple choice of plate size and you're good to go.

Zen environment with plain and deeply healing organic, vegan and gluten-free meals. All meals are pre-fix, so you choose medium or large plate or simple plate. Regular meals come with a nice soup too. Water and organic twig tea are always offered (self-service). The meal can be like a meditation. No phone usage is requested to be present in the environment and experience with your food.

This place is my absolute favorite spot in Berkeley--I'm here multiple times a week...it's that good. 100% vegan and organic...I love it as a vegan, but non-vegans love it, too! Each meal includes brown rice, beans/lentils, a steamed green with sauce, mixed vegetables, salad, and soup! The menu rotates regularly. They accommodate carry out or dine in, and they have free hot tea, too. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing and the food comes out very fast. I really can't say enough good things...I love Potala!

Easy, great tasting good for you food. Only one choice, medium or large. My prefix meal came with soup, beans, rice, salad, collard greens, and pumpkin. Tea, and water were free, but self-service. Tasty wholesome and filling.

This spot knows how to satisfy their customers. Regularly with a very friendly attitude. The food is reasonably priced, always yummy and clean.

Each item on the plate has it's own delicate flavor and/or gravy. The items may vary but usually there will be a green salad, a green cooked vegetable, a rice, beans or lentils and another mixed vegetable. Once there was a creamy mushroom sauce which was especially delicious. The generous bowl of soup is so good and nourishing and it, and a mug of tea comes with the meal. While you are eating you know you're doing a good thing for yourself. We will be back often!

The medium plate is plenty unless you actually want leftovers choose large and remember to bring your own tupperware! The owners are wonderful and welcoming. Absolute perfection.. All of their items are certified organic and I would describe the fare as Asian/Indian monk fusion.They offer meals in courses or al a carte.. Get the multi course meal; it comes with fantastic soup, rice, curried vegetables. You won't be disappointed.This was my first time here, but it won't be my last. This is one of the first places that is good enough to revel my dearly departed Herbivore.Thank you for such a great experience.

We met with friends at this restaurant for lunch. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff members were so friendly and we felt very good. The meal was delicious. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. We recommend this place to all.

Shockingly Poor Service and OK Vegan Food. Zero stars for the service and 1.5 starts for the food. I am a strict vegetarian, and I found the food to be so unsatisfying that I had to go home afterward make a decent meal. The server had an accent so thick that I literally could not understand what they were saying.

Would surely recommend trying this spot. Exceptional atmosphere, fresh food, awesome customer service. They never disappoint.

Simple, straightforward and Vegan. You cannot ask for more.I ate there a few times, but I wouldn't specifically go out to eat at the restaurant. The ambiance is not great, but that's not the focus of this place. You go there, get amazing, simple and delicious vegan food, and you go home... that's it. The options are just the size of the serving you get.The best option is to take this food home. It has the amazing homemade feeling with good and fresh ingredients. Fast service and you get free tea while you wait for the order.
